One of the gas burners on our dual-fuel stove was clicking and failed to ignite the burner on my gas stove. Once it started clicking, it wouldn't stop so we had to unplug it.
We got a call promptly the next morning after ordering the Angie's List appliance repair deal the night before. An appointment was scheduled and the repair technician arrived on-time. The stove burner was inspected to see if any of the parts needed to be replaced, but it was able to be fixed without the need for new parts. It may have been spill-over from something that originally caused the issue, but once cleaned the burner has been working perfectly. The technician took down the model number for the stove so he could easily order new parts in the future if there are any more problems. I was very pleased with the service and would happily use Above and Beyond again. G. Wiley St Charles, MO 10/2014 Diagnosed our occasionally leaking ice dispenser issue and replaced a water valve. Zach arrived on time, actually a few minutes early. We discussed the problem. He looked up the part information, went and purchased the part, replaced the part. Only time will tell if the issue was actually fixed, but Zach told us to call if we still had issues. Zach was very friendly, and professional. He promptly returned my phone call, was up front with his pricing and got the repairs done quickly. -Shannon O'Fallon, MO. 1/13 Fixed free standing ice maker, vent fan, refrigerator. Roger was 5 minutes early for his appointment. He was polite and went right to work. He found that my under counter ice maker only needed a hose to be tightened to stop leaking and allow for the water to reach the mechanism that was not working. He could have easily told me that I needed a new part for the part that did not work without water running to it. We have a vertical vent on our gas stove top that goes up and down and it wouldn't stop going up and down when we pressed the button. Roger made a minor adjustment to the angle of the fan and found that it was hitting the counter and the auto safety switch was working and making the unit go back, just a safety on a garage door opener. Again, no parts needed. He then fixed rollers on a refrigerator drawer that we not allowing the drawer to operate correctly. All of this and a bill for $145 in labor for over an hours work and no travel charge. Excellent quality and communication. Fair price. That's what I wanted and that's what I received. Bravo Roger!! His appearance was neat and he was friendly. He explained what he was doing and completed the task in a timely manner. We were having a weird dryer noise going on and couldn't figure it out. We found this service on Angie's list. Even though the owner was on vacation with his family, he stilled answered our call. He was scheduled to be home the next day and he was at our house as soon as he got back. Great service. He called before to get the make and model number of our dryer, so he would have the correct parts for it before he cam to our house. He knew what was wrong immediately and fixed it quickly. He is a one man show, and I prefer using service like his than some big corporation. We will definitely call with any other repairs we may need. Beth Phillips St Charles, MO. 3/2013 Roger w/Above & Beyond Appliance Repair came to my house on Friday 3-1-13 to give me an estimate on 3 of my kitchen appliances (range, dishwasher, & side by side fridge) he was here approximately 1 & 1/2 hrs & determined what the issue was with each appliance & gave me the prices including the fee for him the fix the appliances & parts. He was very reasonable with his fees to look at & fix the appliances. First he looked at the dishwasher & figured out why it wasnt working properly & we determined that we were not going to fix that, then he looked at the range to determine why it was not able to keep a temperatue so he figured out what was causing that & ordered the part to fix it & then he looked at the fridge & determined why it was no longer staying cold so he figured out what was causing that & ordered the part to fix it. Then on 3-7-13 Roger came to fix the range & the fridge he was able to fix the range right away but when he went to fix the fridge he determined that the problem was something else associated with his original diagnosis so a different part needs to be ordered & the fridge will be fixed once that part arrives. Roger is such a nice professional down to earth guy who knows what he is doing & we will definitely use him again in the future if there is a need. He showed up early to do the repair, talk to him the day before about the part needed. Showed up to the house with part in hand to repair the washer. It took him about 20 minutes to complete the task. Pricing i felt was fair for what he had to do. This company will be my first call for an appliance repair. Did a great job !!!!! I decided to go on Angie's List to find someone to give us a second opinion and found Above and Beyond Appliance Repair. Roger came out the next day. I was not home but my wife said Roger was on time. He was very friendly and professional. He found the problem and fixed it in 15 minutes. His fee was $23 cheaper than the first repairman that came to our house. I will definitely be using Above and Beyond in the future and will be recommending him to all of our neighbors. Explained what the issue was and resolved the problem also provided tips on how to stop the issue from happening again. He let me know that if the issue returns withing the next 30 days he would come out again without an additional service charge. Other companies I have used change for ever service call it does not matter if its a re repair call or not. Identified and resolved freezing issue with refrigerator. John Stimac St Charles, MO 10/13 Our dishwasher started making a loud grinding noise. I contacted above and Beyond by e-mail to see if he repaired dishwashers since it said he did large appliances. He replied a few hours later that he did. He was able to come the day after our call. He arrived 10 mins before the appt. time. He found a piece of bark caught in the pump. He took the pump apart to remove the piece. He then ran the washer to make sure we were happy with the sound being gone. He was nice, friendly and informative. Our dryer was not heating. A called Roger and got an appointment for next day which was really good since we needed the dryer to be fixed quickly. Zach arrived on time (in fact 15 minutes early), diagnosed the problem and replaced the element and the thermistor. The dryer is working perfectly now. Great job! I would hire them again. R. It was so refreshing to have a serviceman come in and repair my appliance without being told that a part would have to be ordered and I would be looking a a week or two before appliance could be repaired. Tracey Jefferson Wentzville, MO. 6/2013 Individual replaced faulty relay on refrigerator with a new start kit which included capacitor and relay. Once the noise started I researched possible causes and replaced only the capacitor on my own. After replacement of the capacitor the noise continued. I contacted the company and was advised that it was most likely the relay and it was explained to me at that time what they would check and what the correction would be. The individual arrived promptly on time, performed the test exactly as explained and it was determined that the relay was bad. As expected the individual replaced my capacitor and relay with a new start kit which resolved the issue. I was left with business card as well as service sticker on the refrigerator and the individual advised that if the noise returned he would come back at no charge. He was fast and friendly and very affordable. Great experience from start to finish. Aaron Montgomery St Peters, MO 2/2013 The pump in the washer was not working. Roger had to replace it. When I called on Friday, Roger was here within a few hours. He had to do a diagnostic on the washer and found a quarter in the pump. He said he would be back on Saturday morning with a replacement. Roger was very friendly, professional and here when he said he woud be! Would recommend! Christopher Ellis Wentzville, MO. 2/2013 Roger was at my house within a couple of hours of my initial phone call. He also called to let me know when he was on his way over. When he arrived at my house he quickly identified the problem and went to work. In repairing the broken seal, he noticed (and showed and explained to me) that the motor shaft was also close to the breaking point. He promptly repaired the first issue and suggested we try a used motor that was at his house. I agreed ($35 for the used part vs $185 for a new motor) sounded like something we should definitely try first. So, off Roger went promising to return at the end of his day with the "used" motor. Unfortunately (and not Roger's fault) the new motor wouldn't cooperate in my machine. The very next morning Roger returned to get the serial # off of the washer needed to order the "new" motor AND while he was here he installed my old used motor so that I could do some of the stacked laundry nor knowing when the new part could be found. He said he would call in the morning and if he could locate a new motor in the St. Louis area he would pick it up and install later in the day. Roger did indeed locate the motor I needed, picked it up, and installed it that evening as promised! I was impressed with this company from the initial phone contact and even more impressed at the end of the job. Not only did Roger fix my problem but he did it in record time making 4 different "house calls" in 2 days. I found him to be professional, prompt, reliable, and the price was right - even though it turned out that the brand new part had to be ordered. I will continue to use Roger for any and all of my major appliance repairs and will recommend Roger to all my family and friends. SUE COLEMAN Lake St Louis, MO. 9/13 Roger diagnosed and replaced a defective part in our Samsung microwave. I called Roger on a Saturday, the only day off I had that week. Roger was open for business and took the time to talk about the problem with our microwave. He was able to correctly diagnose the problem and order the part. Roger verified our appointment beforehand, arrived on time and made the repair. He is professional, knowledgeable and also a nice person. Provider checked all fittings and installation, ran machine, stayed and watched for issues. Machine did not leak during cycle. We concluded that it had been filled improperly as the leak was a one-time event. Provider committed to return at no charge if the problem re-surfaces. John Hirsch O'Fallon, MO 10/13 Gas oven stopped working after self clean cycle. He checked several things and found the problem. He fixed the problem and was out in one hour! Roger arrived on time and introduced himself. He came prepared, checked the oven and broiler, found problem, fixed it and was done in 1 hour. Very professional and polite. Sam Showed up on time. Looked professional and was courteous. Told us what was wrong and how much it would cost. He went and got parts he needed and did a professional repair to our dryer Timothy White 1/3/2017 Our go to guy from now on! Laura Planck 1/16/2017 We have used Above and Beyond Appliance Repair two times now and we are very pleased with their work. Both times the repair person was on time and did an excellent job of diagnosing and fixing the issue quickly. On our latest repair, Sam did a great job of cleaning out the drain that was iced over and causing frost to develop in our freezer drawer. There was over 2 inchs of ice frozen to the bottom of our refrigerator that we could not see. Sam removed the ice and cleaned out the drain, sucked up the water and inspected all aspects of the drainage system. It took about 45 minutes to complete. Later in the day, we called Sam back to our house due to a strange sound that was coming from the back of our refrigerator, that was not there before he worked on it. He promptly returned to our house to see what was going on. As it turned out, it was the water coil on the back of the refrigerator that was vibrating against the refrigerator back panel. Sam easily fixed this by moving/pressing the coil to the back of the refrigerator to keep it from rattling. We were a bit embarrassed that we called him back for such an easily fixed problem. Sam was great to work with and very courteous. Lastly, I like being able to text message the company to make an appointment and to ask Sam to return to our house. It made the whole experience much easier than leaving a voice message. Mark Sissom 2/3/2017 Very well. Very nice repair-man (Sam). When I called I did not have to go through an answering service, the owner (Roger) answered, and the next morning my washer was fixed at a more reasonable price than the other company I called beforehand. Both times the company has come out quickly and made repairs without any additional charge. Something is wrong with the refrigerator that they are having trouble tracking down, but they seem determined to get it figured out. I'm impressed with their persistence even though, by now, they've surely lost money on us. He came back the next day, and installed the new element with no problems, saving me the aggravation of shopping for (and paying for!) a new stove! He also was able to remove the broken light in the oven that I could not dislodge, so now I also have a light in the oven! As it was right before the end of the year, I did not want to have to go out to shop for a new stove, so i was delighted!Description of work:I have a Jenn-Air stove that I purchased way back in 1988! The heating element burned out, so the oven became unusable, and I was afraid that the result would be that I would have to buy a new stove, even though the burners were fine. We called Above and Beyond and I spoke directly with a technician. When I described the problem and our make/model refrigerator - he immediately know what the problem was. He even worked with the manufacturer of the double oven to get them to make a part specifically for my oven that was no longer available. I appreciate Sam diligence in working with the overseas manufacturer to allow me to not have to purchase a new oven. Sam was professional and resourceful. I would definitely use them again. At first, it looked like a control board was the issue and they had to order a new one which their supplier sent the incorrect board.
